Welcome to Bainbridge Island!

I have now spent a couple of days on the Island, and today was the first sunny one! While there was still a lot of wind, I got up and started to explore. I apologize for the amount of pictures, but I thought you might like to see where I am living. Enjoy!

View of the Eagle Harbor

The ferry I took in

Yep, the Iowan is obsessed with the shells on the beach...

Found a park about 5 minutes away that has some awesome trails, Grand Forrest Park I think?

I learned that this is called Skunk Cabbage. It produces a chemical that makes it smell like a skunk, but which also produces heat. So in the winter if there is snow on the ground, this plant will melt it and stick out from the snow.

In the summer we will sell produce from this farm stand

The back view of my house, you can see the upstairs windows for the living room and downstairs is where laundry is.

The compost that Hamilton built that we will be using.

The Bath house

Right down the road is the winery

Some of the farm

Red and Abby posed for a picture! Betsey uses them as draft horses, an alternative to using machinery

Chicken Coop

Soon to be grape vines

Hoop house

Lots of Kale plants, and the horses keeping watch

The back of Betsey's house which just down the road

The horse are attached to this for practice around the farm

Front of Betsey's house

Pathway up to my house

This is in the shed right next to the house, a lot of Eiko Suyematsu's old stuff

The view of the porch and door to the house, there is still a bunch of stuff out from the event

Kitchen

Living room

My room

Porch

Crazy tree in front of the porch. Spider something I think? I am learning.

So there is a little insight to what I am seeing around here. I apologize for the random order of the pictures, Maybe I will organize them later, but right now I am tired of fighting with technology. Miss you all!
